Unless you've been living under a rock somewhere, you
should be aware that since the summer of 2013, the
offshore oil job industry has been in a serious down
cycle. It is estimated that around 440,000 decent, hard
working, dependable offshore personnel got laid off from
various offshore companies around the world.
This industry has operated on boom or bust cycles every
since it's inception back in the 30's. That's just the
way the oilfield rolls.
It looks like we are beginning the upswing cycle from
the last downturn. What offshore recruiters are finding
is that upwards of 60% of the workers laid off will not
be returning to the oilfield. After they got their pink
slips, they just didn't sit around waiting for something
to happen. They found other jobs, vocations, careers,
business interests and early retirement.
number of them will not be returning to their previous
offshore oil rig jobs.
This provides a great opportunity for you. As the
industry slowly comes out of the last downturn, there
will be more and more offshore employment opportunities
available. My purpose in running this site is to equip
you with the tools and knowledge necessary to get one of
these high paying offshore oil rig jobs.
There is no shortage of web sites and you tube videos
talking about getting hired and working on an offshore
oil rig. Most of these sites are very thorough in their
presentations. However, for the serious job seeker,
there are two obvious problems:
It's easy to get overwhelmed about where to start
and what to apply for, especially if you are an
entry level type person with no previous offshore
experience. Regardless of who you apply with, the
first question you will usually hear from an
offshore recruiter is "Do you have any prior
offshore experience?" If the answer if YES, you are
in like flint. If the answer is NO, then you will
have just encountered your first road block.
Another major drawback I discovered in using the web
to find offshore oil rig employment is the lack of a
"personal touch". There are a lot of great sites out
there, but when you try and get in touch with a
human, it's a different story. You won't have that
problem at Offshore Guides.
I spent most of my adult working life in the offshore
oilfields of the world, both in the US and overseas.
When I first started, I had no prior experience. While
this can be a bit of a roadblock if you've never worked
offshore before, there are ways to overcome it.
While I traveled the world on various offshore drilling
vessels, I had the brilliant idea to take my many years
experience about working offshore, how to get hired in
the industry, who to see, what to say, where to go, what
to expect, etc., and publish them in a very informative
book entitled "The Complete Offshore Employment
Handbook". One of the smartest things I ever did.
The good news is that I will provide this book to you
FREE when you
register at this site. This allows recruiters who
are searching for offshore personnel to contact you,
providing you have the qualifications they are looking
for. So sign up today and get your FREE copy of "The
Complete Offshore Employment Handbook"!
Thanks and have a Blessed Day!
