Our Mechanical department is responsible for translating process data and datasheet into a plant. The team of 50 people consists from an international group of people divided into 10 specialized sections: Rotating Equipment, Mechanical Equipment, Civil & Plant Steel, Furnace Internals, Furnace Steel & Refractory, Piping, Painting & Insulation, Stress & Supporting, Piping Material and CAD/CAE Support.
Position Description:
As (Sr.) Piping Engineer you are responsible for the engineering and design coordination of plant piping systems with the other disciplines Process, Electrical and Instrumentation, Civil and Structural, Procurement and Construction.
This means coordinating plant piping engineering performed by other Technip offices or Engineering Subcontractors.
Leading a team of piping designers, pipe stress engineers and piping materials engineers and assisting projects in technical coordination with the Customers and prepare piping engineering and design hours estimates and detailed planning.
As (Sr.) Piping Engineer you will report the piping engineering and design status, progress and manpower forecast to the project manager and you are responsible for the preparation of plant layout concepts (plotplans).
You will perform regular PDS 3D model reviews to check suitability of the design, participate in review and update with piping input on Piping and Instrument Diagrams and review detailed design drawings prepared by third parties.
Profile:
* HBO (Bachelor degree) or MBO (Technical College) education in mechanical engineering
* With a HBO education you should have more than 5 years of experience and with a MBO education you should have more than 10 years of experience in plant layout and piping design
* Knowledge of PDS 3D modeling systems, preferably design experience with this tool
* Knowledge of pipe stress engineering in Caesar II, preferably some experience using this tool
* Knowledge of modern electronic piping material handling systems
* Knowledge of modern electronic document handling systems
* Fluent in English, both verbal and written
* Good knowledge of Word and Excel
* Good communication skills
* Flexible, pro-active and a team player

Responsible to the Operations Manager for the safe and efficient running of the vessel he has been appointed to command. The company relies upon the Master to set a high standard of personal and professional conduct and to set an example to the officers and men under his command. The Captain will be mindful of the need to maintain morale and encourage sober habits in the crew. The Captain will, at all times, give attention to the safety of the ship and crew, and will ensure that safe working practices are always employed.
Marine Functions
1. When relieving, the Master should become acquainted with the handling characteristics of the vessel, the cargo, and the personnel, capacity, equipment, operation of the navigational equipment, speed, fuel consumption, ballast arrangements, safety apparatus, and other essential characteristics, to determine whether the vessel is seaworthy, and that the equipment is in satisfactory condition.
2. If applicable, ascertain the operating schedule and changes to the number and location of rigs/platforms to be serviced.
3. Remain fully informed and adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and directives affecting the operation of the vessel.
4. Identify and prioritize maintenance and repair items in a work list. Ensure that paperwork requirements are met, i.e. rough log, company log, charter’s log, reports, forms, engineering maintenance systems records, etc.)
5. Responsible for the security of the vessel.
6. Ensure corrections are made to the navigational charts and publications, and that “Notices to Mariners” are received aboard that are current and received on a timely basis.
7. Ensure the vessel is operationally ready to get underway by checking out the bridge/engine room interfacing equipment, internal and external communications equipment, electronic navigational aids, navigational lights and signals, and search lights.
8. Identify and respond to potentially hazardous conditions while maneuvering.
9. Ensure stability is maintained as cargo is brought aboard and stowed, or as fuel and other consumables are used by using the Stability Letter or the Trim and Stability Book Information.
10. Verify with the Mate that the anchor handling winch and all associated gear and tools are operable and available.
11. Sets course, determines geographical position, calculates land fall and avoids hazards to
shipping by utilizing aids such as lights, lighthouses, buoys, charts, plotting sheets, sextant, GPS, azimuths or other celestial bodies.
12. Understands procedure and able to receive and pump all fluids and cargo.
Emergency Response Functions
1. Overall responsibility for the safety of the crew and the vessel during emergency situations.
2. Maneuver the vessel to remain in navigable waters and minimize the effects of an emergency situation.
3. Assess the severity of all emergency situations and determine the most advantageous method to combat the emergency.
4. Responsible for the establishment of any damage control, fire fighting procedures, and personnel assignments.
5. Summon additional assistance, as required, from other ships, rigs/platforms.
6. Responsible for the ordering of the abandonment of the vessel in order to prevent serious personnel injuries.
7. Ensure that first aid is provided to victims and ascertain if additional medical assistance is required.
8. Responsible for immediately notifying the company of a death aboard the vessel.
9. Log, record, and document pertinent information or circumstances of an emergency,
injury, accident, illness, or death aboard the vessel and complete all required reports.
Supervisory Functions
1. Full authority over all officers and unlicensed personnel on the vessel.
2. Follow up on assigned maintenance and repair work lists provided by the Mate and the Chief Engineer.
3. Responsible for the maintenance of proper watches on the vessel at all times.
4. Remain alert at all times for potential safety hazards.
5. Responsible for imparting knowledge about the specific features, characteristics, and procedures of the vessel operations to crew members, and the orientation of all new personnel aboard the vessel.
6. Responsible for the posting and maintenance of station bills, equipment and arrangement diagrams, standing orders and company operations and safety manual(s) aboard the vessel.
7. Provide on-the-job training following standard operating procedures and company policy to develop personnel skills above minimum levels.
8. Responsible for the training and evaluation of personnel in the performance of their specified duties.
9. Responsible for conducting an ongoing safety program aboard the vessel, including the planning and holding of emergency drills, and for emphasizing to the crew the need to wear protective clothing and their need to use common sense while carrying out their assignments.
10. Ensure that crew members report potential safety hazards to him and then take prompt corrective action.
11. Ensure that Documentation Certificates, International Loadline Certificates, Safety Equipment Certificates, Derat Certificates, USCG Inspection Certificates (U.S. vessels) Captains, Mates and Engineer licenses and fee Station Licenses (U.S. vessels) are onboard, posted (where required) and in date.
12. Ensure that the safety, maintenance, and reporting requirements of the regulatory bodies of the vessel registry are carried out.
13. Perform any other additional duties that may be required or assigned.
Requirements
Qualified applicants must hold the following credentials:
-Valid USCG License with a minimum rating of 1600 Ton Master (3000 ITC)
-Valid USCG Master of Towing endorsement
-Valid USCG STCW-95 with Master Endorsment
-Valid MMD (Z-Card)

The nature of vessel work calls for considerable skill on the part of the Mate to supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew to the best advantage. While due regard must be paid to giving adequate rest periods, by careful planning and personal attention, the mate is expected to maintain the ship in a clean and efficient condition.
Work Schedule
12 hour days
28 days on, 14 days off
Marine Functions
1. Inspect, maintain, and test safety and lifesaving equipment, fire fighting equipment and systems, navigational lights, ship’s whistle, fog horn, and search and signal lights.
2. Responsible for the cleaning, painting, and general housekeeping to provide sanitary conditions on the vessel.
3. Inspect and test the internal communications system and the general alarm system.
4. Assist the Captain in preparing the vessel for scheduled inspections and surveys.
5. Responsible for keeping the Captain advised of changes in the material condition of the vessel.
6. Responsible to the Captain for the safe navigation of the vessel while serving as the Officer of the Deck.
7. Responsible for the assignment of crew members to handle lines for the mooring of the vessel.
Cargo Handling and Special Operations
Responsible to the Captain for the safe and proper stowage and securing of deck cargo
and ensuring all deck cargo brought aboard agrees with the provided manifest.
Emergency Response Functions
1. Responsible for taking the initiative to direct the actions of personnel at the scene of any emergency (in charge of the emergency squad).
2. Ensure that areas of responsibility are secured for adverse weather.
3. Provide first aid to injured personnel according to training or directions from the Captain.
4. Responsible for the launching of the lifecrafts.
5. Assumes command of the vessel if the Captain is incapacitated.
Supervisory Functions
1. Assign work to himself and deck hands, taking into account the weather, the vessel’s schedule, the crew size and experience, and supplies.
2. Supervise, instruct and assist the deckhands in the proper methods and procedures for
completing maintenance and repair work.
3. Supervise the roustabout, the stevedores, and the deckhands in the safe and proper stowage of deck cargo.
4. Train and assign personnel to sea watches and in-port security watches.
5. Responsible for implementing on-the-job training of the deckhands under the direction of the Captain, and in such a manner as to not interfere with any operations.
6. Responsible for training the crew in emergency procedures during drills, as directed by the Captain.
7. Responsible for supporting the ongoing safety program aboard the vessel by training members of the deck department in the wearing of protective clothing,
8. and by stressing the use of common sense and the need for alertness while carrying out assignments.
9. Recommend personnel for promotion and increase in pay.
10. Responsible for ensuring that morale and discipline are properly maintained.
11. Keeping a running inventory of amounts and expiration dates of lifesaving equipment, firefighting equipment, and emergency equipment required and on board.
12. Holds a valid license issued by the U. S. Coast Guard.
13. When more than one mate is required, may be designated Chief Mate, First Mate, Second Mate, or Third Mate.
14. Perform any other additional duties that may be required or assigned.

Operations/Maintenance:
- Prepare cargo for lift by attaching slings through shackles and other attaching devices. Check loads for clearance, obstructions, balance and
proper attachment.
- Give or relay hand signals and/or radio signals to crane operator to control lift and movement of load.
- Manually lift, carry, and move equipment, tools, and materials from place to place as required. Ensure to use correct body positioning and safe
lifting procedures.
- Remove waste, debris, and accumulated trash from decks, stairs,compartments and other areas of the rig and dispose off properly.
- Sweep and wash decks, bulkheads, and structures using brooms, mops,rags, brushes, air, and high-pressure water hoses.
- Clean up spills and accumulated waste and take all necessary actions to prevent tripping and slipping hazards.
- Keep hand tools in good condition, properly maintained, and stored when not in use. Keep lines, hoses, slings, et cetera coiled and other materials
properly stored.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of the rigs machinery and equipment using proper tools and following safety rules and procedures.
- Operate air hoists, hydraulic hoists, chain hoists, and other cargo handling gear to pick up and move tubular and other heavy equipment
- Assist in the care and protection of drill pipes, marine riser joints, and other tubular using such items as brushes, rabbits, thread protectors, pipe
dopes, et cetera.
- Assist in assembling, dismantling, and maintaining of deck machinery,pumps, drilling tools, and other mechanical equipment.
- Assist in slipping and cutting of wire lines, inspection and maintenance of wire and fiber lines, slings, and other lifting equipment.
- Assist in erecting scaffolding and staging as required.
- Prepare and clean deck surfaces, superstructures, bulkheads, et cetera prior to priming and painting.
- Paint prepared surfaces as directed; i.e. apply coats of primer, paint, and varnish with rollers and spray guns in accordance with painting
specifications.
- Assist as directed during rig moves and anchor handling operations.
QHSE:
- Maintain a safe area for task assigned. Stow all tools and equipment at the end of each tour so as to avoid safety hazards for other operations.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as designated on Station Bill.
- Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to supervisors.
- Attend the weekly safety meetings. Actively participate in all pre-job meetings as required.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Driller, the Assistant Driller operates and monitors all drilling systems and equipment, assists in drill crew work activities, and manages appropriate drilling documentation for the process of drilling oil and gas wells from an offshore drilling unit to the satisfaction of the client, Company management, and within compliance of applicable regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations/Maintenance:
1. Rig Startup on New Drilling Site
Assists the Driller with the following:
a. Positioning of the temporary guide base beneath the rig floor.
b. Making up the Bottom Hole Assembly components and standing the drill collars back in the derrick.
c. Assisting the Subsea Engineer in testing Subsea BOP.
d. Participates in and contributes to a pre-spud meeting with all drill crewmembers to outline the details of the well program.
e. Performing maintenance and equipment safety checks on the drilling system as needed.
f. Running the temporary guide base.
g. Running the spudding drill string and guide frame to the guide base.
h. Running the television camera to bottom.
i. Spudding the hole and drills out to next casing depth.
j. Monitoring all pertinent drilling instruments.
k. Operating the rig's hoisting equipment, rotary table, along with supervising the drill crew in making connections and running various tools and equipment necessary to construct the well bore as per client drilling program.
l. Assists cementing service company with running cementing tools and supervises the drill crew with this procedure.
m. Documenting, on an ongoing basis, all downhole equipment used in constructing the well bore.
2. Drilling Operations
Assists the Driller with the following:
a. Run permanent guide base (PGB).
b. Run 30" pin connector, marine riser and diverter system.
c. Positioning of BOP stack under the rig floor.
d. Operating the hoisting equipment while running BOP stack and related components to the ocean floor.
e. Nippling up of the choke and kill line jumper hoses, riser tensioners and other related components of the slip joint.
f. Pressure testing of BOP stack once it is installed.
g. Operating the rig's hoisting equipment and rotary table along with supervising the drill crew with regards to making up and running the required drill stem components.
h. Monitoring various drilling instruments to ascertain bottom hole conditions once the bit is on bottom and turning to the right, along with drill stem and well bore performance.
i. Operating the hoisting equipment, rotary table and supervises drill crew while making connections, tripping, testing.
j. The Assistant Driller must have a comprehensive understanding of well control.
(1) Must always be ready to follow predetermined well control procedures and be able to recognize the signs of a well kick or blowout before it develops into an emergency condition.
(2) Required to conduct well control drills regularly to provide the drilling team members practice of functioning the well control equipment to control abnormal well bore pressures.
k. Performing maintenance and preparing for the next phase of the drilling program.
l. Retrieving the drill stem and BOP equipment so that the well can be plugged and abandoned or completed as required by the client.
m. Returning all equipment to its proper storage location and make ready for use again or replace if necessary.
n. Completing drilling logs and paperwork as required.
3. Emergency Response
a. BLOWOUT/KICK
Assists the Driller with the following:
(1) Must be able to recognize the various signs of a well kick or blowout. Accomplishes this by:
(a) Monitoring drilling instrumentation to recognize and control well conditions.
(b) Training with all drill crew to recognize the signs of abnormal well conditions in their own working areas.
(2) Knowledgeable and able to perform procedures for circulating kick out in accordance with one of three basic methods:
(a) Wait and weight
(b) Driller's method
(c) Concurrent
(3) Resolving abnormal well conditions as directed by Senior Drilling Supervisor in concert with client representative.
(4) Securing the rig floor as much as possible without endangering any life.
(5) Reporting to the Senior Drilling Supervisor when the appropriate time allows detailing the conditions and procedures taken to resolve the well control event for future investigation and preventive action.
b. FIRE, ACCIDENT, RIG ABANDONMENT
Assist the Driller with the following:
(1) If emergency conditions develop on the rig floor or drilling related area:
(a) Suspend drilling operations as directed by Senior Drilling Supervisor and/or Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)
(b) Sound alarm
(c) Secure equipment
(d) Implement proper emergency procedures
(2) Should an emergency condition develop in an area other than in the drilling department:
(a) Suspend drilling operations and contact Senior Drilling Supervisor and/or O.I.M.
(b) Assist the emergency area with the drilling team as directed by the Senior Drilling Supervisor and/or O.I.M.
(3) Coordinating actions and assistance with O.I.M. and/or Toolpusher.
(4) Completing all accident, injury and damage reports which occur in area of responsibility.
(5) Rendering assistance within personal qualifications in case of personal injury and providing details of the injury for future investigation.
(6) If an emergency calls for rig abandonment:
(a) Suspend drilling operations and contact the Senior Drilling Supervisor and/or O.I.M.
(b) Secure the rig floor and mud circulating system
(c) Proceed to predetermined abandon ship station
(d) Assist in supervising abandon ship procedures.
4. Rough Weather Procedures:
Assist the Driller with the following:
a. Securing the rig floor, initiating shut-in procedure and following hangoff procedure as directed by the O.I.M. and/or Senior Drilling Supervisor.
b. Providing assistance to other departments as necessary while waiting on weather.
C. Other Job Functions
