Chapter 16

What to Take

When you get called in for an interview, you want to take your gear with you. This will include at least two sets of work clothes, a hard hat, steel-toed boots, and work gloves. (I've found the white cotton gloves with the black dots to be the most appropriate.) Take personal toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, shampoo, etc. Take enough reading material and cigarettes to last from one to three weeks. Towels and soap are provided at the work site. The BR hands wash clothes daily. Try to put everything in one bag. Be sure to take a slicker suit, heavy-duty rain gear which can be bought at any marine or boat supply house or a military surplus store.
